It’s Not What You Drive… It’s How You Drive It!
The BARC Speed Championship provides an enjoyable, engaging and truly competitive environment for established drivers. What’s more, for new drivers and those currently considering entering competitive motorsport, it offers a cost effective point of entry.
Catering for every kind of vehicle from standard production to single-seater racing cars, places are open to all current British Automobile Racing Club members, plus current members of motorsport clubs affiliated to one of five regional associations.*
In 2018, the Championship will feature twenty-four rounds at some of the best circuit, sprint and hillclimb venues in the UK, with your choice of ten rounds counting to the final award. This nationwide programme of diverse driving environments and locations allows you to plan according to your ability and budget.
Scoring is based on established class records. This provides the opportunity for every type of car to accumulate points and ensures that all competitors have a fair chance of taking home a prize. The overall BARC Speed Championship winner receives the unique Wilkinson Sword and £200, with £75 and a trophy for the runner-up. There are trophies for all of our class winners too.
In addition to the main prize, there are five category awards, including the Rallye Communications Top Six Challenge, Emerald Award, Down to Earth Ladies Challenge, Insite Graphics Challenge Trophy and the Raymond Good Joinery FTD Handicap Award. Together, these deliver even more winning opportunities, offering a combination of cash prizes and trophies.
