This year the British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) will add a whole new dimension to MotoFest Coventry. Since the introduction of new legislation in 2017, staging competitive motorsport on closed public roads is now far more achievable across mainland Britain. So, for almost two years, Coventry City Council, the MotoFest Team and the BARC have worked closely with the Motor Sports Association and all the relevant authorities to secure the authorisation required. As a result, we are delighted to bring you the 2018 MotoFest Coventry Sprint, the first closed road Speed event held under the new laws and, following on from the highly successful Corbeau Rally in April, the first competitive motorsport event on UK city streets for almost thirty years.
Consisting of two practice runs each morning, followed by two timed runs in the afternoon, the MotoFest Coventry Sprint will take place as part of the established MotoFest programme, which features a spectacular collection of cars and bikes.
Entry is open to extensive range of vehicles and members of over thirty clubs. However, due to the nature of this event, certain exclusions apply, including open wheel single seater racing cars. So, please make sure you have read the Supplementary Regulations carefully before entering.
Day one and day two of the MotoFest Coventry Sprint are also Rounds 6 & 7 of the 2018 BARC Speed Championship. With a further eighteen rounds still available, and your choice of just ten counting towards the final result, there is still plenty of time to enter!
