Home About The Centre

BARC Midlands Centre

Founded in 1987, BARC Midlands is one of the British Automobile Racing Club’s highly successful regional centres. During recent years it has established a knowledgeable, highly productive committee, creating a substantial resource of motorsport experience.

Capitalising on an extensive range of skills, BARC Midlands Centre organises and delivers a popular annual programme of sprint events at venues including Three Sisters Circuit and Curborough Sprint Course, in addition to MotoFest Coventry.

Since the departure of Rockingham and Silverstone’s Stowe Circuit, the centre is now actively seeking to expand its coverage, with the ambition of realising a series of new speed events in the years to come.

The centre also operates one of BARC’s extensive fleet of Rescue Units, benefitting from a dedicated, well-trained crew.

BARC Midlands & Vulcan Rescue covers a wide range of BARC events from the British Touring Car Championship to Goodwood Revival and can regularly be found supporting other motorsport clubs at race events, rallies, sprints and hill climbs.

In 2009, BARC Midlands Centre adopted management of the BARC Connaught Speed Championship. Catering for every kind of vehicle from standard production to single-seater racing cars, this excellent series annually delivers twenty-five competitive rounds at some of the best circuit, sprint and hillclimb venues in the country. Culminating in a spectacular Championship Dinner, here competitors are rewarded with a host of prestigious trophies and cash prizes.

Since late 2017, leading members of the centre’s committee have focused on revitalising the BARC Connaught Speed Championship, seeing it growing into one of the UK’s most successful speed series that’s becoming increasingly popular with competitors nationwide.
