2019 saw the BARC Connaught Speed Championship going from strength to strength, with registration reaching a level not seen for many years. At the start of 2020, we were delighted to see this trend continue, with a whole host of new drivers joining our established competitors.
As we all now know too well, what started out packed with great expectations rapidly became a truly challenging year that impacted on almost every aspect of our daily lives. Motorsport was no exception, seeing the cancellation of established series and popular events, including BARC Midlands Centreβs sprints and the BARC Connaught Speed Championship.
Unfortunately, 2021 has not started well, but there are almost certainly better times ahead. However, when we will be able to start competing remains a question that no one can currently answer. In response, BARC Midlands Centre has adopted a positive approach, aimed at making the most of every opportunity that becomes available.
Once again, we have been hard at work, collaborating with our fantastic competitors to explore potential venues and building allegiances with a number of like-minded motorsport clubs. As a result, the 2021 BARC Connaught Speed Championship calendar has the potential to deliver an awesome thirty-four rounds, features a diverse range of venues, including old favourites and a number of new challenges.
